Crieff Community Action Plan 2027 – 2031 and Local Place Place
Crieff Community Trust and Crieff Community Council are working together, with local organisations and community groups, to shape Crieff’s next Community Action Plan and Local Place Plan. The process is being supported by Community Enterprise Ltd, specialists in community action planning and local place planning.
This is a plan for Crieff, by Crieff and we want to hear what matters most to you.
What do you value about Crieff? What needs to change? What would make Crieff a better place to visit, to live, to work, grow up and grow old in, over the next ten years?
Please Help and Get Involved

- Time – multiple sessions will run throughout the day – times to be confirmed. Check out social media posts for the latest news

Every contribution, no matter how much time you can offer, will help ensure that as many voices as possible are heard and represented in shaping Crieff’s future.
What is a Community Action Plan?
A Community Action plan is created with local residents. It sets out:
- What matters most to the community
- What needs to improve
- What actions partners and the community will take together
A Community Action Plan is based on
- Local data about the area
- Feedback from residents
- Knowledge from local organisations
A Community Action Plan helps communities:
- Agree shared priorities
- Plan improvements
- Strengthen funding bids
- Work more closely with local partners
What is a Local Place Plan?
A Local Place Plan offers communities the chance to shape their local area.
They are community-led plans that focus on the existing and future use of land and set out proposals for potential developments in the community.
A Local Place Plan might consider:
- improvements in town and local centres
- local initiatives to promote active travel or community food-growing
- conservation of the natural and built environments
- sites or areas of land which could help tackle climate-change (such as renewable energy, flood mitigation, or tree planting)
- sites for housing development (including affordable housing and housing for particular needs or groups), local employment, or new tourism and community facilities
- retaining, improving, and expanding open space, green and blue infrastructure (such as footpaths, water networks, and drainage or flooding measures), and play facilities.
Once completed and registered by the planning authority, Local Place Plans will be considered when we are preparing a new Local Development Plan.
Crieff Community Action Plan 2021-2026
The 2021 – 2026 Crieff Community Action Plan was a renewal of the 2013-2018 plan and work continued over the 5 years towards achieving the identified priorities and actions. The updated plan embraced new priorities and actions as identified by the community for development during the exhaustive consultation process that took place between November 2020 and March 2021.
The Community Action Plan was facilitated and led by a Steering Group which brought together representatives of Crieff Community Trust, Crieff Community Council, Crieff Connexions, Crieff Community Garden, Logos Youth Project, Creative Crieff, Strathearn Arts, Crieff Succeeds, Remake Scotland, Crieff & Strathearn Museum, Live Active Leisure, local Councillors and representatives of Perth & Kinross Council.
Here’s a short film about the creation of community action plans in rural Perthshire, in which our plan features.
