CCT secures Drummond Arms title
Crieff Community Trust has secured the title of the former Drummond Arms Hotel
While the crumbling ‘B’ listed property, which is on the national Buildings At Risk Register, was left to fall into major disrepair and give rise to dangerous situations, CCT has been working very hard navigating countless obstacles to secure the building and bring it back into use for the benefit of Crieff.
This has been a massive group effort. For the past five years we have been working tirelessly carrying out feasibilty studies, acquiring funding and developing partnerships. It’s been a long and difficult journey and a huge learning curve.
The process has tested our tenacity, resilience and stamina but we are very happy that we have finally acquired the building.
The immediate priority is to make the building safe before the hard work of bringing the building back to life can begin.
CCT will ensure that anything that goes in the building will be economically sustainable and fit for purpose for years to come, that it won’t compete with local businesses and organisations and will bring people back into the town.
We wouldn’t be here without the huge help from the community of Crieff, Perth and Kinross Council, the Scottish Government, the various funders who have helped along the way and a number of other organisations and individuals which are too numerous to mention.
