It’s all coming together for Crieff! Crieff Community Trust Steering Group, Crieff Community Council and Crieff & Upper Strathearn Partnership are all joining forces to lead the community into creating a powerful Community Action Plan for Crieff for 2013 – 2018. All the work that has been done surveying and studying Crieff in the past two years is being gathered along with the results from the recent community consultation to be presented to the Crieff community and its supporters on Saturday September 22nd.

Everyone in Crieff is urged to come to this drop in session between 12 – 4pm and join in and vote for what they think are the most important projects – which ones will best improve the quality of life in Crieff? There will be free kids activities with re:make, face painting, free refreshments, live performances and local groups stalls. The day is for everyone of all ages and is not to be missed!

Some people may be asking “why does Crieff need a Community Action Plan? Is this just another survey?”
The answer is that this Community Action Plan is crucial for the Crieff Community Trust to be successful in acquiring large grants from organisations such as Big Lottery Fund and CARS [Historic Scotland’s Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme] to sort out Crieff’s derelict buildings and other costly projects. The CCT must provide evidence that it is acting on behalf of the town and the wishes of the majority of residents and business owners. A Community Action Plan is the recognised format by major funding bodies and will increase Crieff’s chances of securing large grants, as other towns have done.

Therefore Crieff Community Trust is working with the Crieff Community Council and CUSP [Crieff & Upper Strathearn Partnership, the umbrella group for all the specialist groups in Crieff such as Crieff in Leaf, Crieff Tourist Association etc…] to create a Community Action Plan for Crieff. This Action Plan will be the blueprint for the Crieff Community Trust’s projects for the next five years. Crieff’s Action Plan will consist of information gathered by the CCT from recent community consultation, findings from the CUSP 2010 survey, the 2011 Univeristy of Dundee study and information from Crieff Community Council. It will be the grand plan for Crieff for the next five years as stated by its residents. Crieff Community Trust urges everyone from Crieff to support this huge effort to improve our town for the benefit of all Crieff residents.

The Open Day is going to be a fantastic event with everyone from the town putting down their views on what should be the priorities for Crieff. Everyone should be putting the date in their diaries to attend this great community event and make sure their views are recorded. This Open Day is the final step in gathering the views of the people of Crieff before finalising the Action Plan.
