Crieff Community Trust takes over ownership of Acorn Dell

For the past few months, Crieff Community Trust (CCT) and Crieff Community Initiative (CCI) have been engaged in talks regarding the future ownership of the community owned land at Acorn Dell in Crieff, and CCT are now pleased to confirm that the title deed for the land has been transferred from CCI to CCT to be held in trust for the people of Crieff Acorn Dell is a small area of woodland which lies along the west side of the Turret Burn and includes the first section of Lady Mary’s Walk. Next Paths group workparty – Saturday 16 July

The next CCT Paths group workparty will be TOMORROW, Saturday 16 July. This month, the group will be in Comrie again, assisting the Comrie Millenium Path Group, led by Joyce Carnegie, with path repair work caused by winter flooding. Tools will be supplied.  Wear stout footwear. Meet at 10am in the car park at the cricket pitch in Comrie. Crieff Paths Group – May work party

Want to make a REAL difference?  Want to learn a new skill?  Here's your chance! The next meet-up of the Crieff Path's Group will be TOMORROW, 28 May, 10am - 3pm.  The group's task will involve improving a section of path near Comrie Croft. The path is a signposted and well-used route linking Comrie Croft to Comrie.  It is used a lot by local people as well as those staying at the Croft. Crieff Paths Group – next workparty – 30 April – in Comrie

Due to inclement weather, the workparty planned for the end of March was postponed (the first time this has ever happened!), and is being held this month instead -- in Comrie at the Millennium Footpath on Saturday 30 April. The Millennium Footpath is the result of a community project that aimed to provide a high quality all abilities footpath in Comrie. It was officially opened in 2011. Works to improve High Street bus stops starting on 22 Feb 2016

CCT have been sent the following information from Perth & Kinross Council in relation to improvements to the High Street bus stops in Crieff.  If you have any questions, please contact Moray Fraser, tel 01738 477370. Crieff Paths Group – path maintenance meet – 27 Feb 2016

Local residents with an interest in maintaining footpaths will want to join the Crieff Paths Group for their first meet of the new year on Saturday 27 February 2016 in Acorn Dell. (Meet at the Taylor Park car park in Crieff (Turretbank Road) at 10.00am. The group will aim to finish about 3.00pm.) The scope of work will involve a general tidy up around the new Acorn Dell path. Crieff Paths Group announces work party dates for 2016

This year, the Crieff Paths Group has decided to pre-program dates for path maintenance activity rather than announce ad hoc working parties as in previous years.  The group hopes that this will allow volunteers to plan ahead. Acorn Dell expected to reopen on Friday 12 February

Thanks to EVERYONE for your patience and cooperation while work has been going on to improve the section of Lady Mary’s Walk that runs through Acorn Dell (along the Turret Burn). Work will be completed this week, and the path will be reopened to the public on Friday 12 February. The contractors have nearly finished, but the path needs a day or two to settle, and the contractors will be back on Friday to dust and roll the first section of the path.
