Happy 2020 from Crieff Community Trust! We look forward to the 2020s being the decade when we really start to see progress on Crieff town-centre regeneration. We made a great start in 2019, securing ownership in October of the former Drummond Arms Hotel. A trading subsidiary company, Drummond Arms Regeneration Limited (DARL), was set up to manage plans for the building and we started work straight away on the immediate priority, making the building safe and secure. On Monday 20th January 2020 tree maintenance operations will begin in Turretbank Wood. TD Tree & Land Services will carry out the work on behalf of Crieff Community Trust. Lady Mary’s Walk Path Maintenance Day

Come and help look after one of Crieff's best loved paths! 10.30am, Saturday 25th January Meet at the Sands on Lady Mary's Walk. We will be clearing drainage channels alongside the path, raking leaves off the path and cutting back overgrown vegetation to keep the path clear. Please dress according to the weather and bring plenty of warm clothing and waterproofs. Please also wear sturdy boots or shoes and gloves to protect your hands. We would like to provide some clarity regarding the development and potential restoration of the Drummond Arms building on Crieff High Street, in response to some reports and some misunderstanding circulating locally. Crieff Community Trust has secured the title of the former Drummond Arms Hotel While the crumbling 'B' listed property, which is on the national Buildings At Risk Register, was left to fall into major disrepair and give rise to dangerous situations, CCT has been working very hard navigating countless obstacles to secure the building and bring it back into use for the benefit of Crieff. Himalayan Balsam Blitz

Crieff Community Trust is calling for volunteers to help tackle the Himalayan Balsam in Turretbank Wood again this year. Himalayan Balsam is an invasive, non-native plant that spreads rapidly and out competes our native woodland plants and flowers. If we don't keep on top of it, it can colonise large areas and all the insects, birds and animals that rely on our native plants and flowers will suffer.
